Cercle Franco-Américain is a private language school and tutoring service founded in New York in 1973. Whatever the subject is, our educators teach systematically and only in their mother tongue in French, English, Spanish, or Italian.
Since its start, Cercle Franco-Américain developed its own educational tools intended to strengthen the learning in guided self-training: Video and audio programs have been produced for both adults and children, to develop their linguistic skills, and the use of these tools quickly became quickly second nature.
With such success, the transition to online teaching more than ten years ago, made total sense for the teachers of Cercle Franco-Américain. Our teachers began to practice with students requiring intensive follow-ups: for candidates for various exams, students having to catch up on their level in class, or professional preparing for a mission abroad.
Eye Catching Logo
We have excellent knowledge of the French “Education Nationale” curriculum and demonstrate very good results with tutoring our French-speaking and English-speaking students as well as helping improve their performance in language tests.
We have sponsored hundreds of children who joined bilingual schools in New York City and completed most of them through to the Baccalaureate.
We have also prepared many Americans to get selected and ready for further college education in France, or their families to move to France and Canada.
We are proud to have taught two American students who obtained the C1 level of the CEFR as well as a rate of 785/800 on the American French SAT, at the age of 15 and 17 respectively.
Last June, our Lycée Français learners received congratulations for their progress, and obtained excellent grades in the “Brevet des Collèges” exam and the “Baccalaureate” high school final exam, as well as maximum scores on the AP French, all with 100% online tutoring!

Social Media Marketing
For any given academic subject, our teachers are either French and American native speakers, while our other language teachers are either Spanish or Italian.
Cercle Franco-Americain is happy to greet students from any Lycée Francais and all other bilingual schools, regularly. Our tutors are fully familiar with the French “Education Nationale” curriculum and have extensive experience in teaching European and English practice language tests.
Our pedagogy adopts the positive vision of Anglo-Saxon education. Whatever the type of course, our priority is to promote the student’s progress, encourage his initiative, and develop his ability to surpass himself and succeed.
At your request, we will send you a program and tuition proposal based on the level of the course, and class duration. For the youngest students, we will suggest several duration options, adaptable to his or her age. For test prep students, the minimum class duration is 1 hour.

Test Prep Pedagogy:
At every level, the French and international exams and tests present a combination of written and oral tests, and / or MCQ-type (multiple choice questions). This combination ensures the highest level of selectivity, regardless of the subject.
Before starting the preparation, we assess the candidate’s precise needs and identify their possible shortcomings and weakest points. A student’s level of fluency is never consistent across all types of subjects. We, thus develop a general examination training program that focuses on one or more of the components to be reinforced (spelling, rich vocabulary, logical reasoning, argumentation techniques, etc.).
PLEASE NOTE: Whichever program is offered; we will integrate a significant amount of personal work to be done by the student. Exam preparation with the Cercle Franco-Américain requires assigning regular homework between each class.

Share the Awareness
Our priority is to protect our students (most of whom are minors and some of whom are very young), from any potential abuse, including excess of language, behavior and influence.
For this reason, our teachers and administrative staff must follow strict regulations by which their teaching fashion and online interactions are ruled. We all shall commit to exemplarity.
PLEASE NOTE: For children under 12, we ask an adult to be physically present at home when the class takes place. There is no need to assist the child during the class, but the goal is to ensure an adult presence is close by.
Families
From the information below we will offer you a work program, a methodology and a teaching price.
